Canada is 10 years out from its 2035 electrification goals and the heat from the race to set up secure, national supply battery supply chains is on.

For the fourth year in a row, supply chain stakeholders across North America will converge on Greater Sudbury to join the 2025 BEV In-Depth: Mines to Mobility conference from May 28-29.

“The conference will continue the conversation on the challenges and opportunities of unleashing a sustainable and ethical supply of domestic critical minerals,” reads a description from the event organizers.

“This year’s program will tackle the added urgency of ensuring we develop our battery materials processing infrastructure – answering the question of what this looks like and, further, how we can get Ontario and the whole country there.”

In addition to two days of programming, networking opportunities will be available throughout the two days beginning with an opening gala dinner on May 28 and ending with a post-event reception on May 29.

The time is now

With so much at stake and so many national and geopolitical relationships evolving in the next decade it is imperative that Canada solidify its battery supply chain.

During the 2025 conference, attendees will hear from representatives from academia, government, automakers, the mining sector and battery makers. Panels will examine interconnection between the various players in the Canadian supply chains.

Speakers at the conference include:

  • Priya Tandon, President of the Ontario Mining Association
  • Alla Kolesnikova, Head of Data Analytics for Adamas Intelligence
  • Lauren Tedesco, COO at the Auto Part Manufacturers Association (APMA)
  • Representatives from Electra Battery Materials, General Motors, Vale Base Metals, Frontier Lithium, Northern Graphite and many more.

This year’s Mines to Mobility conference is presented by Cambrian College, the City of Greater Sudbury, the Electric Vehicle Society, Frontier Lithium, and Laurentian University, in cooperation with the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI), Electric Autonomy Canada and the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI).
