Canadian EV drivers are getting some welcome news ahead of their summer road trip plans: new chargers at InnVest overnight stops

InnVest Hotels, Canada’s largest hotel owner and operator, is partnering with turnkey charging solution company, Swift Charge, to install more than 300 EV chargers across more than 70 property locations.

The hospitality company, which operates properties under brands including Marriott, Hilton, Fairmont, Sheraton, Delta and Holiday Inn, among others, will install chargers at properties in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

“We are excited to continue our roll-out of EV chargers with Swift, a Canadian-based charging platform,” said Ryan Vader, senior asset manager and corporate impact chair at InnVest Hotels, in a press release.

“We see great value in scaling our EV offering to all travelers across the InnVest portfolio from coast to coast. We expect to outfit all hotels by the end of 2026.”

Currently, 50 InnVest charging locations are already live in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada.

Driver downtime, charger uptime

This month’s announcement follows a successful pilot that saw Swift Charge install 12 chargers across InnVest Hotels’ properties.

One of the most attractive features of the expanded InnVest/Swift Charge partnership is that it enables EV drivers to travel without adding extra time for charging to their journey.

“Our focus is on delivering a dependable, hotel-tailored charging experience that works consistently across a wide range of locations and operating environments,” said Sheldon Zhang, CEO of Swift Charge, in a press release.

Swift Charge specializes in Level 2 EV charging, which is ideal for overnight applications.

When drivers wake up in the morning, their vehicles will be fully charged and ready to go.

Higher power solutions available

Earlier this year, Swift Charge also unveiled a 100 kW DC fast charging station at Portage College in Lac La Biche, Alta.

“As demand for electric vehicles rises, we are committed to building the infrastructure that makes sustainable travel practical and accessible,” said Zhang during that announcement.

Operating under a partnership-based model, Swift Charge says it continues to look for collaborations with “hospitality, multi-unit residential, and commercial properties.”

As of June 2026, Swift Charge has over 150 charging locations across North America.
