Petro-Canada wants to keep electric vehicle (EV) drivers moving toward what matters most to them, and there are some exciting new updates to share about Canada’s Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging EV stations.
Topping the list: all Petro-Canada EV chargers are operating with support from a new North American vendor with deep expertise and experience in the EV charging world.
The transition means drivers will benefit from increased uptime, greater reliability and dedicated customer service when they plug into a Petro-Canada charging station.
Going forward, customers will be able to use additional apps to locate Petro-Canada stations that offer EV charging along their route and initiate a charging session. Customers can also locate a charging station on the Petro-Canada app.
As well, the tap-to-charge function on Petro-Canada chargers remains the same to make payment easy.
Petro-Canada is also optimizing its charging network footprint by adding charging stations across Canada where there is customer demand.
By mid-2026, there will be approximately 12 new Petro-Canada charging sites – most located in urban or high-traffic areas – with many other existing sites upgraded to newer chargers with multiple connector types.
All new and upgraded Petro-Canada charging stations can provide between 60 kW and 200 kW charging speeds.
Customers will also benefit from dedicated customer service to answer questions and troubleshoot issues.
“By listening to our valued customers and working with an industry-leading vendor to improve our EV charging network, we’re driving a better customer experience,” says Dave Fath, General Manager of Brand Marketing for Petro-Canada.
“We’re proud to continue helping EV drivers charge ahead with confidence.”
