For 50 years, Petro-Canada’s iconic maple leaf silhouette has been a trusted beacon on Canadian roads — a place to rest, refuel, and resume the journey. Since 2019, it’s also become a place to recharge.
Since the launch of Canada’s first coast-to-coast EV fast-charging network —Canada’s Electric Highway — we’ve proudly supported Canadians on their electric road journeys.
Today, that network continues to connect the country with over 50 fast-charging sites that provide thousands of hours of charging with made-in-Canada electricity to enables emission-free road travel.
We’re proud of our role in Canada’s electric future — and we’re just getting started.
As a pioneer in EV charging, we’ve had the unique opportunity to pilot some of the country’s earliest fast-charging technology. These first-generation stations provided us with an invaluable window into driver behaviour and customer needs.
And now, we’re acting on those insights.
In 2025, Petro-Canada will update charging infrastructure with new hardware, enhancing reliability, reducing charge times, and improving the overall customer experience.
Furthermore, all new Petro-Canada locations are designed to be EV-ready, allowing us to rapidly expand the network as demand grows.
Even as our technology evolves, some things will stay the same.
Our goal is for every driver — regardless of their distance from home — to feel welcome and supported at our sites. That means providing:
Whether heading to your destination or returning home, you can trust that the maple leaf silhouette will be there — a symbol of comfort, consistency, and innovation on the road.
We look forward to welcoming you on your next electric adventure.
