Join us on November 10 to hear experts discuss the key factors needed to help grow electric freight corridors in Canada and the U.S.

What will it take to plan a true electrified corridor system for Canadian and North American freight? And what can Canada learn from truck charging corridor development in the U.S., such as along Interstate 5 and Interstate 10, as we look to electrify our lanes?

In Quebec, the first heavy-truck charging site was deployed under Propulsion Québec’s Quebec City-Toronto corridor blueprint. Meanwhile, British Columbia has joined Washington, Oregon, California and Mexico’s Baja California to develop the first Canada-U.S.-Mexico zero-emission freight corridor down the West Coast of North America, called the British Columbia to Baja California ZEV Corridor (BC2BC).

Panelists from Hydro-Québec’s Circuit Électrique, Greenlane and PACT will discuss these projects in detail and outline the key factors needed to enable charging infrastructure development at scale.

Topics we’ll discuss:

  • Progress on corridor electrification in the U.S., and where the work is happening, as well as the core infrastructure and locations required to make an electric lane viable.
  • Learnings from current truck hub operators Greenlane and Circuit Électrique, including the economics of these sites, megawatt charging and how fleets are currently engaging.
  • What the BC2BC partnership will deliver, from an initial 20 charging stations of at least 2.5 MW along the I-5 to what comes next.
  • How to make infrastructure interoperable across jurisdictions, for fleets planning routes through multiple provinces and states.
  • How to solve the chicken-and-egg problem of getting long-haul carriers to commit to electric trucks on corridor routes so that charging infrastructure providers will invest.

This virtual event is brought to you in by PACT – Powering America’s Commercial Transportation in partnership with Electric Autonomy.

Our panelists:

  • Andrea Pratt, VP Government & Utilities, Greenlane
  • Martin Archambault, Business Development Manager, Fleet Electrification, Hydro-Québec
  • Sam Vercellotti, Policy Advisor, PACT
  • James Carter, Principal Consultant (Moderator), Vision Mobility
