Plug’n Drive has opened submissions for its 2020 Electric Vehicle Awards program, to be presented in partnership with the Canadian Electricity Association. The awards have been given out by the Toronto-based non-profit in recognition of Canadian car dealerships and electrical utilities leading in the promotion and sale of electric vehicles annually since 2014.

This year, awards will be presented in the following categories:

  • Leading Battery Electric Vehicle Dealership
  • Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dealership
  • Mike Brigham Used Electric Vehicle Dealership Award
  • Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Utility Leadership Award

Applicants will be reviewed by a panel of EV industry experts. Dealerships are assessed on achievements in sales, marketing, community involvement, staff training and the on-site visibility of EV products and services. Utility applicants are evaluated on the quality of their EV programs and research, including programs for customers, employees and fleets.

National recognition

Award winners will receive recognition in a national news release and on the websites of Plug’ Drive, the Canadian Electricity Association, and their media partners, as well as a trophy recognizing their leadership in the field.

Last year, the Leading Battery Electric Vehicle Dealership award was given to Campus Nissan, in Victoria, B.C.; Bourgeois Chevrolet, in Rawdon, Que., won the Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dealership award; and the Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Leadership Award went to Ontario Power Generation (OPG).

Interested dealerships and utilities can apply on Plug’n Drive’s website until the July 31st deadline. The winners will be recognized at a special event on October 3.
