Porsche builds some very fast electric vehicles. But now those EVs can be even faster — at least, when it comes to the charging experience.
The German car brand has announced its electric vehicles are now able to take advantage of the Plug and Charge feature on the Tesla Supercharger network across North America, via Porsche Charging Service. Plug and Charge streamlines charging and eliminates the need for apps or credit cards, using automatic, encrypted transactions when the vehicle plugs in.
The feature is available for all Macan Electric SUVs, as well as the 2026 Taycan sedan. It will be available on the Cayenne Electric when it arrives in Porsche dealerships later this year.
“This marks significant progress with regards to convenience for our EV customers,” said Trevor Arthur, President and CEO of Porsche Canada Limited, in a press release. “Increasing Plug [and] Charge access makes charging simpler and more user-friendly, moving us closer to a seamless electric vehicle experience.”
The Porsche Charging Service also supports Plug and Charge at all 57 Electrify Canada stations across seven provinces. While both the Macan and Taycan have CCS-1 charge ports, NACS adapters are complimentary from the automaker for Porsche EV owners.
