October 2025

Managing Editor

We’re seeking an editorial lead who can break news stories and build multi-platform content programs that serve business and government audiences navigating the transition to electric vehicles. You’ll be both publishing news and building the editorial infrastructure that makes Electric Autonomy the essential source for EV industry intelligence. Serious journalism with serious impact.

Introduction

Electric Autonomy is the leading media and events company reporting on Canada’s transition to electric vehicles, autonomous transportation and new mobility services. These new disruptive technologies have the potential to deliver societal and economic benefits by providing cleaner, safer and more economical transportation to all Canadians.

Our original journalism, live events and data resources help grow the market for electric vehicles and associated industries by providing quality news, knowledge and networking for business leaders and policy makers. We promote and help enable the economy and jobs essential to Canada’s future.

The opportunity

This role combines journalism with strategic thinking across our media channels. As part of our small-but-mighty team, you’ll need to be equally comfortable taking ownership of our news and content programs, while personally delivering high-quality content.

  • Report the stories that matter: Break news on major initiatives, policy shifts and market developments while nurturing sources across the industry.
  • Cross-channel execution: Write news and editorial articles, create educational content and collaborate with conference and events teams to produce outstanding live programming (webinars and in-person conferences).
  • Editorial strategy: Shape our reporting priorities and content calendar based on industry developments and audience needs, striking a balance between news and evergreen content, such as in-depth analysis and market guides alongside original reporting.
  • Oversee sponsored content production: including sponsored articles, webinars or other placements (note sponsored content is labelled and differentiated) to ensure it delivers great value for our readers and advertisers.
  • Multi-format journalism: Map content touchpoints to engage the right readers on the right channels whether that’s our newsletter, social channels, in-depth guides or daily stories.
  • Build bridges between different content programs to maximize audience engagement across platforms, such as ensuring discussions at our live events inform future reporting, and that educational content is leveraged for live events.
  • Act as a spokesperson: leading panel discussions at Electric Autonomy’s live events and when invited to speak at third-party events.
