Kia Canada has announced pricing for its latest electric SUV, the 2027 Kia EV5, which will be exclusive to Canada within the North American market.

As the first of three more affordable EVs Kia Canada says it plans to introduce in 2026, the EV5 is set to enter Canada’s largest vehicle segment with nine trims priced from $43,495 to $61,495 MSRP.

The lineup starts with the Light FWD at $43,495, followed by the Wind FWD at $47,495 and Wind AWD at $49,995. The Land trims are priced at $49,995 (FWD) and $52,495 (AWD). At the top end, the GT-Line models include the GT-Line FWD at $55,495, GT-Line AWD at $57,995, GT-Line Limited FWD at $58,995 and the GT-Line Limited AWD at $61,495.

The EV5 will first be available in the Wind FWD through GT-Line Limited AWD trims when it launches in spring 2026. Meanwhile, the Light FWD trim will become available near the end of the year.

“The Kia EV5 is available in nine different trims, providing Canadians with plenty of options that meet a variety of preferences,” said Elias El-Achhab, COO and Vice President at Kia Canada in a press statement.

“Competing in the largest SUV segment in Canada as a dedicated EV, the EV5 truly is the revolution of the family SUV perfect for empowering modern families with all the technology and convenience they require.”

Battery, charging and interior design

Kia is offering two battery sizes for the EV5: a 60.3-kWh standard-range pack on the Light trim and an 81.4-kWh long-range option starting with the Wind.

Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations will be available across the lineup to reflect different driving styles and the various Canadian road conditions.

Kia plans to announce the official range estimates the various trims of the EV5 in early 2026.

The electric SUV will also be equipped with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, enabling access to an expanding network of compatible DC fast chargers.

In terms of appearance, Kia says the EV5 draws from its “Opposites United” design philosophy and the “Bold for Nature” theme, resulting in styling reminiscent of its larger EV9.

Notable exterior elements include Kia’s EV “tiger face” grille, a 3D star-map lighting signature and available 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels. Eight colour options will be offered, including the new Magma Red and Frost Blue.

Inside, the EV5 incorporates a selection of 10 environmentally conscious materials, part of Kia’s broader strategy to modernize and innovate the interiors of its vehicles.

Production for the Canadian-market EV5 will take place at Kia Autoland Gwangju in South Korea.
