Goodyear has launched the Wrangler ElectricDrive AT, a new all-terrain tire designed specifically for electric vehicles in Canada.
The Wrangler ElectricDrive AT is engineered for electric SUVs and pickup trucks such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and Rivian R1S.
According to Goodyear, the tire combines rugged, all-terrain capability with confident winter performance. It carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) designation, signifying that it meets industry standards for severe snow conditions.
To enhance cabin comfort, Goodyear has integrated its SoundComfort Technology, which helps reduce interior noise. The tire also comes with an 80,000-kilometre limited tread-life warranty.
As Goodyear brings this new tire to market, it’s the perfect time because ’tis the season for tire changes as the snow, slush and ice start to make their return. And just like gas-powered cars, EVs face their fair share of winter driving challenges. But with the right set of winter tires designed for EVs, drivers can enjoy safer, quieter rides throughout the colder months.
Because of the added weight from their battery packs, EVs need tires designed with reinforced construction and improved grip to maintain traction and stability when accelerating, steering or braking on icy roads.
