Jeep has revealed the Canadian pricing of its first electric SUV, the Wagoneer S.

The Wagoneer S Launch Edition will have a starting price of $91,790. At this price, the EV does not qualify for government rebates.

“The launch of the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S marks a new chapter in the storied history of the Jeep brand,” said Antonio Filosa, CEO of the Jeep brand, in a press release.

“Building upon nearly a century of innovation and design, this first global EV will introduce a whole new generation of owners to an experience that is distinctly Jeep and 100 per cent electric in every way.”

The electric SUV will be first available at Jeep dealerships in Quebec and British Columbia starting this fall. As production increases, availability will extend to other provinces.

Jeep is also releasing a second battery-electric model, the Recon. That vehicle is expected in 2024 as well, according to the Jeep website.

Key features

The Jeep Wagoneer S offers an estimated range of up to 480 kilometres.

Key to the Wagoneer S’s performance is its electric drive modules, designed by Stellantis. These modules deliver instant torque independently to the front and rear wheels, ensuring a responsive driving experience.

The SUV will produce over 600 horsepower and 617 pound-feet of torque. This allows for a zero-to-60 mph (96.5 kph) acceleration in approximately 3.4 seconds.

Jeep is constructing its first EV on the STLA Large platform. The automaker designered and engineered this platform — tailoring the length, width, suspension and powertrain configurations — specifically for the Wagoneer S.

For versatile driving, the Wagoneer S comes standard with four-wheel drive. Jeep also incorporates its brand-exclusive Selec-Terrain system. This system enhances traction in all weather and road conditions with modes for Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow and Sand.

Charging made easy

Jeep is equipping the Wagoneer S with a 400-volt, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack, enabling the vehicle to fast charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in 23 minutes.

Each Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition comes with either a 48-amp Level 2 home charger or public charging credits of equivalent value through Free2move Charge — a Stellantis-owned comprehensive charging network comprising of chargers operated by ChargePoint, Shell Recharge, EVgo, FLO and EV Connect.

The system’s app allows Jeep EV owners to search for public charging stations, activate charging sessions and track their charging history.
